Pain from backaches, arthritis, and similar disorders often responds well to heat therapy. By increasing the temperature in selected areas of the body, this treatment enhances blood circulation and helps muscles to relax, reducing stiffness and increasing mobility.

What we wanted:

  • A simple to use, non-toxic alternative to pharmaceuticals

What we needed:

  • A multi-use personal device that can be heated or cooled that comforms to joints and muscle tissue
  • An affordable, safe and effective personal injury management device for all ages
  • What we did:

We created Kewler pronounced "Cooler", or The Kewler Company to share the products that we created to help our family manage immediate and the long-term pain, aches and bruises of growing older. Help us spread pain relief by sharing your icyball or thermalball story

Cold icyballs® constrict blood vessels and encourage the lymphatic system to clear fluids and damaged tissue by-products. Swelling is reduced and an analgesic effect is produced relieving the pain associated with strains, sprains and bruises.

thermalball massage for sciatica nerve pain

    The Idea

Problem: Design an elastic snowball to assist my family with a solution for neck, back and sciatica pain. Where acupressure point and thermal therapy synergize.

Thermalballs stimulates the body's vascular and lymphatic systems to flush toxins, dead cell matter and bacteria. Contrast thermal therapy replenishes the affected area with fresh oxygenated blood and nutrients. Cold thermalballs constrict blood vessels and encourage the lymphatic system to clear fluids and damaged tissue by-products. Swelling is reduced and an analgesic effect is produced relieving the pain associated with strains, sprains and bruises. Pain relief from backaches, Arthritis, Sciatica nerve pain, Heel Spurs pain, Plantar Fasciitis pain along with general muscle massage and hot cold pack therapy, can be achieved with Thermalball therapy. By increasing (or decreasing) the temperature in selected areas of the body, thermal therapy enhances blood circulation and helps muscles to relax, reducing stiffness and increasing mobility.

    The Products

    Icyball and Thermalball

2 tactile sizes: The original 3 inch, 8 ounce version and the 4 + inch, 16 ounce Mega ICY deep tissue massagers.

    • Icyball was initially designed for cold use only until our clients told us (at the American Massage Therapy Convention) how they were using them heated
    • The Thermalball product line was developed to improve heat cycling with retirement to cold only use
    • Kewler products last...I still have my original prototype icyball in the freezer. The mega icy (blue) lasts 4 hours and is my favorite size
    • Product combinations: We have a neoprene band for wrapping heated or cooled thermalballs around your knees and back. The starter kit with microwaveable krock includes our most popular promotional pack of 3 thermalballs
    • Under Development: Look for our line of performance E N H A N C I N G products (no pills) just scientific area specific cooling WHILE perfoming!

    • Plantar Fasciitis relief

    • Hot Flashes in Menopause - mobile hot flash treatment!

"...in order to change tissue within a typical one hour massage, a therapist needs to warm tissue quickly, usually with the healing of friction of repetitive touch. Changes in tissue are much easier when temperature can be applied to various places on the body at once. Thermalballs act as an extension of the therapist's anatomy enabling a revolutionary massage with bonus therapy for the practitioner (better quality and ergonomically easier on the anatomy of the professional). Thermalballs feel like your skin, supple, but can traverse bony prominences without interruption in acupressure or temperature. "...thermalball products just work better!

Thermaball delivers deep heat or icy cold to all areas of the body due to the suppleness of the ball, penetrating ruggedness and "tacky" exterior. It allows you to get into contours that you normally can't affect with compression and decompression - plain and simple...."

In my years of practice I have been tempted by tools that could help me, or make it easier on my body or better for the client. Most all of the tools I have tried do not have longevity. Either the client gets bored or the device doesn't meet expectation.

There are only three tools that really fit into my practice and Thermaball is one that I am so happy to have...

I have found Thermaballs natural to use, require little learning curve and fit into the routine perfectly. Eventually every good massage therapist will want them as part of their arsenal...

Truly I cannot commend you enough for developing such a wonderful product that has been such an asset to my massage career. Send anyone my way for a recommendation!

    Joanna Roberts, NCLMBT

I use the icyballs very effectively on people with varieties of neuromuscular problems like plantar fasciatis, migraine head aches, low back stiffness, circulation problems in upper traps, gastrocnemius, etc. The results are very remarkable. People get significant relief and I see icyballs as a useful tool in the process of healing. The icyballs compliment me to perform deep tissue and muscle release techniques easily. They reduce the strain on my hands. It is a great product.

I started using the icyball in my pain management practice to help my chronic pain sufferers. This is the best way to use ice therapy on Plantar Fasciitis and Heel Spurs. Thanks for the quick delivery
